FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT HELIUM AND BALLOONS

How long do helium-inflated balloons fly?

Helium-inflated balloons with diameters of 30 to 35 cm fly around 15 to 20 hours.
Small balloons fly for a shorter amount of time and larger balloons, for example balloons with a diameter of 90 cm, can fly for several days.

Is it possible to prolong the flight time of the balloons?

Yes, with the liquid silicone "High-Float". This product seals off the small latex pores in the balloon with a thin layer. Therefore the helium stays in the balloon for a much longer time.

Are Rick's Company balloons biodegradable?

Yes. Rick's Company latex balloons are made from 100% pure latex and are therefore completely biodegradable.

How long does it take to inflate balloons with helium?

With a helium bottle one person can inflate around 100 balloons per hour.

How much helium does a balloon contain?

The volume of a spherical object can be calculated with the formula 1.34 x PI (3.14) x r ³.
This means we assume that the balloon is spherical. With the radius (r = equals half the diameter) in decimeter the result will be liter.

A balloon with a diameter of 30 cm: r=1,5 decimeter
1.34 x 3.14 x 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 = 14,2 liter

How much helium does a bottle contain?

Helium bottles contain helium under pressure. The helium in the bottle is compressed around 150 to 200 times. A helium bottle of 45 liter with a pressure of 200 bar therefore contains 45 x 200 = 9000 liter helium.

What is the buoyancy of helium?

The buoyancy of helium is around 0.95 gram per 1 liter helium.
A balloon with a 30 cm diameter with a volume of 14 liter therefore has a buoyancy of 13 gram minus the weight of the balloon, the ribbon and potentially the card.
